Typically, printed documents get recycled by being placed in a recycle bin, with the exception of paper shreds and paper that is contaminated with grease or food.

However, when it comes to shredded paper, you should not be placing this with other items in your blue bag or apartment blue bin.

So what do you do to dispose of shredded paper? Take it to the Recycling Depot or put in your garbage. Even the City of Edmonton recommends that we separate our paper shreds from our other recyclable waste.
